You were a truly remarkable person. My memories of you begin when I took minutes as you chaired the Executive Committee of the AAM in 1986. Your calm, firm steering of debates at our AGMS, which could become difficult meetings was a masterclass. You were kind and gentle with staff and volunteers and I have many memories of your kindness to me all those years ago. You were always there, always approachable. You gave your heart and soul to the campaign, first to eradicate apartheid and then to eradicate its legacies. You taught me how to be steadfast and the importance of remaining principled. I am so grateful that even when you were unwell you remained involved and committed, giving me advice and support when I became ACTSA's Chair. For everything, Bob, thank you. May you rest in peace.
