Bob Hughes was a great friend and comrade of my parents, Vella and Patsy Pillay, through their common work in the

Anti-Apartheid Movement. Bob spoke at Dad's funeral in 2004 and attended a get together for Mum's birthday in early 2020.  But a

memorable occasion when I and my wife Elzbieta got to know Bob more is when he invited Mum and us for lunch at the House of Lords

in the summer of 2015 when we were visiting London.  He was a lovely person and was committed to the liberation of South Africa.
