Bob was always brilliant. A man of integrity and tireless activism, he was always warm and had a ready smile. He was especially inspirational to all new people joining the movement; forever generous with his time and encouragement, he made everyone feel included and every contribution welcome.

Bob gave unstintingly of his time, his skills and his wisdom, to build the Anti-Apartheid Movement and enrich international solidarity. He gave little thought to his own career progression, and his legacy is all the richer for it.
